Computing

At Kingshill Infant and Nursery School, it is our intention to ensure children become natural users of technology, by equipping them with the computing knowledge and skills they need to be confident, creative and independent in this area.  Through teaching Computing and using ICT across the curriculum, we prepare children to participate in the rapidly changing, digital world of which they are part.  We aim to ensure that as the children develop their understanding of computing they are well-prepared in order to be safe while immersing themselves in the ever-developing technological world in which they live.

In Nursery and Reception they explore technology through child-initiated learning. The children begin to use iPads and Bee-Bots.

In Year 1 and Year 2, we cover the requirements of the National Curriculum. Computing is taught through a weekly discrete lesson. Children have access to Chromebooks, iPads and Bee-Bots. Keeping safe online is taught as a discrete block but integrated into all Computing lessons.
