At Kingshill Infant School, our Reading Buddies programme brings together Year 1 and Year 2 pupils every Thursday for a chance to embed the reading skills the pupils have learnt!

Year 1 children pair up with their Year 2 buddies to practice reading together. This not only helps younger pupils to build their fluency and confidence but also fosters friendships and a shared love for, and value for books. Together, they explore stories, share their favourite characters, and celebrate the joy of reading.
