School Council
The aim of the School Council is to develop an awareness of citizenship and to ensure that our main stakeholders: the children, have a voice and can be heard within our school community.
The School Council is an ideal opportunity for pupils to get more involved in the way the school is run. The School Council benefits the whole school, pupils and teachers because it provides opportunities for pupils to communicate their feelings as well as influence decisions that are made.
As part of giving our year two pupils extra responsibilities to prepare them for their next step in education, they can choose to be part of the school council. Our “School Council” consists of 6 children: three children from each year 2 class. Each member has to be elected by their class and attend regular meetings to discuss relevant matters of interest concerning school organisation and contribute to the continuous development of Kingshill Infant & Nursery School.
This year the school council have chosen to support the charity 'The Woodland Trust'. They are busy planing three events to raise money for our chosen charity.
